Autodesk Sketchbook Play
I had a lot of fun playing with Autodesk Sketchbook for an Opus Creative project — into the wee hours this last week. Deadlines aren’t so bad when there is drawing involved! Sketchbook combines aspects of Photoshop, Illustrator and has a really intuitive interface.
For my part, I was supplying a sketch for part of a short animation. I used Quicktime to record my movements as I sketched (with a Wacom tablet) and the animation will show a snippet of that drawing process. It is so interesting to watch the motion capture replay. I can see the way I think as I draw, and hover like some kind of hummingbird over the surface.
To learn the software, and get warmed up, I sketched a little scene in front of me…congas, light fixture and greenery on the table.
